Can I place a preorder?

Sure! We offer a limited preorder menu each week.  Order from our most popular items and pick up at your convenience!  Preorders can be placed at hotplate.com/spreadtheloaves and open Sunday mornings for the following week.  The cut off for preordering is at midnight two days prior to pick up to allow us a full day to prepare your order just for you.

Can you slice the sourdough loaves?

We can slice your preordered loaf! Our slicer cannot keep up with walk-in demand for sliced loaves, so we kindly request that you place a preorder and leave us a note asking for your loaf to be sliced.  We recommend taking a loaf home whole and slicing as needed for the best experience.We don’t use any added preservatives in our loaves so they’ll stay fresh longer if you slice as needed, but freezing the slices keeps them well.  Simply pull a slice out and toast it whenever you want one!We also usually have pre-sliced and frozen loaves available for purchase in our self-serve freezer right inside the door. These loaves are sliced the day they were baked for peak freshness!

Do you have anything gluten free?

We do not.  Our bakery is very small and it would be nearly impossible for us to completely prevent cross-contamination.  Sometimes gluten-sensitive individuals can tolerate our sourdough loaves since we do a long fermentation, however.  We recommend visiting our friends at Sprinkles and Spoons for all of your gluten-free needs!

Care Guide: Sourdough Loaves

Accepted Answer

Our loaves are preservative-free, which unfortunately means they won’t last forever! We recommend slicing the loaf as needed for 2-3 days, storing the cut loaf in the paper bag we give it to you in. This’ll help the loaf maintain it’s classic artisan crust. After a few days, the loaf will start to dry out a bit, so we recommend slicing whatever’s left on that third day and then freezing it in a freezer-safe ziplock bag.  You should be able to easily grab a slice and toast it right from the freezer whenever you want one!

Care Guide: Sourdough Bagels

Our bagels are best enjoyed the day they’re baked, but can always be refreshed with a quick visit to the toaster! We recommend enjoying your bagel by the end of the next day, or slicing and freezing. The bagels can then be toasted right from the freezer!

Care Guide: Sourdough Focaccia

Accepted Answer

Sourdough focaccia can be refreshed in an oven, toaster oven, or air fryer! Simply drizzle with a little olive oil and toast to your liking. I recommend 375 degrees for about 5 minutes; keep an eye on it.
