The time has come to add another smiling face to our front of house team!
We are a small, from-scratch bakery that specializes in sourdough-leavened breads. We frequently change flavors based on seasonal produce and flavor profiles, and bake plenty of holiday favorites from around the world. Our company values community, consistency, and cooperation, and the ideal candidate will keep those values in mind as they join our team. What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for a part time cashier to join our team. This position is perfect for someone who lives in or near Helotes and is looking for a way to supplement their household income.
Saturday availability is a must. We do have weekday shifts open, too, but the priority is Saturday. Your shift will be 8am until close, which is usually around 2:30-3pm. We prioritize regular shifts here, so once we settle into a schedule, your hours won’t change. That being said, it is very helpful if you have some flexibility to be able to cover other shifts for your coworkers since we are such a small crew.
The ideal candidate has a positive attitude and friendly disposition. You are the face of our business, and we rely on you to make sure each and every customer feels welcome. A huge bonus would be some existing familiarity with our bakery and products!
Requirements:
Reliable and punctual.
Comfortable handling both cash and credit card/tap to pay transactions.
Physically able to regularly bend over/squat, lift up to 40lbs, and stand for the entire shift; you will have a stool available but we stay busy so you may not get a chance to rest outside of a break.
Food Handler’s permit required.
Attention to detail is a must. This is a fast moving bakery with many different things happening at once; being able to stay calm under pressure and aware of what you are doing at all times is vital.

Pay/Benefits:
Pay starts at $8/hr plus your share of tips. Cash tips are taken home daily, while credit card tips are pooled and distributed based on hours worked on biweekly paychecks. For reference, our cashiers end up taking home anywhere from $15-23/hour on average after tips.
Weekly loaf of sourdough, a daily item from the pastry case, and a 25% employee discount on any additional items you purchase (items from outside vendors excluded).
