The time has come to add another smiling face to our front of house team!
We are looking for a part time cashier to fill some very specific shifts each week. This position is perfect for someone who lives in or near Helotes and is looking for a way to supplement their household income.
Hours will be:
Tuesday afternoon from 1pm-4pm (these hours are somewhat flexible if needed, but will need to be in the afternoon), Wednesday from 8am-2:30pm (3pm at the latest), and Saturdays. After training, Saturday shifts will alternate between a 7:30am-noon shift and an 8:30am-close shift.
We are closed Tuesday, so these shifts will involve helping with prep-day dishes and setting the retail side of the bakery up for the week, including preparing packaging and setting up signage for the pastry case. Wednesday shifts will be customer facing, and you will be our only cashier. Saturday shifts are required as we are in our busiest time of the year right now, but our cashiers do alternate closing.
The ideal candidate has a positive attitude and friendly disposition. You are the face of our business, and we rely on you to make sure each and every customer feels welcome. A huge bonus would be some existing familiarity with our bakery and products! This is a fun, collaborative work environment, and we expect every member of the team to jump in where needed and support one another.
Requirements:
Reliable and punctual.
Comfortable handling both cash and credit card/tap to pay transactions.
Physically able to regularly bend over/squat, lift up to 40lbs, and stand for the entire shift; you will have a stool available but we stay busy so you may not get a chance to rest.
Food Handler’s permit required.
Attention to detail is a must. This is a fast moving bakery with many different things happening at once and you will be joining our team at the busiest time of the year; being able to stay calm under pressure and aware of what you are doing at all times is vital.

Pay/Benefits:
Pay is $10/hr plus tip pool with the other cashiers. Cash tips are taken home daily, while card tips are pooled weekly and distributed based on hours worked on biweekly paychecks. For reference, our cashiers end up taking home anywhere from $15-23/hour on average after tips.
